What do our dues do?
FFU member dues are the resources union members pool together to ensure our union is strong and can bargain for improved working conditions in future contracts and enforce existing contracts that improve working conditions. FFU is a union shop; our members are part of the 600+-member strong union community at Fordham. We attend union meetings, participate in negotiations, and vote in union elections. If you decide to become a non-member fee payer, you’ll still pay 91.4% of dues as non-member fees, but you won’t be able to support your union through voting, attending union events, and participating in CBA negotiations that have a direct impact on your livelihood and working conditions at Fordham.

How to calculate your dues per paycheck:
- Calculate your monthly dues using Table 1.*
- Insert the calculation from Table 1 into the dues ($ / month) figure in Table 2.
*You can also use the Dues Calculator below, but please be sure to read the dues explanation here.
Table 1: Calculate monthly member dues
| Total Compensation1 | Dues (Monthly) |
| Under $5,196 | $12.65 |
| $5,196 – $16,000 | $35.00 |
| Over $16,000 | Whichever is greater: 1) 3 times hourly rate Full-time hourly rate = Salary divided by 2080 Part-time hourly rate = Salary divided by 1040 OR 2) Minimum of $40.00/monthly, maximum of $77.00/monthly2 |
- For returning faculty, the total compensation figures used to calculate dues are equivalent to the cumulative pay from the prior academic year. For newly hired faculty, the total compensation figures are equivalent to your current annual salary (full-time) or your current semester pay (adjunct).
- According to the logic below, any full-time faculty who earned $53,400 or more in the prior academic year pays the maximum $77/month.
